New Year's Day is just around the corner.
もうすぐお正月ですね。

ERIKO：

I want to veg out in front of the TV on New Year's Day.
お正月はゆっくりテレビでも見てのんびり過ごしたいね。

MIYUKI：

Oh, I have to get some rice-cake.
あ、お餅買わなきゃ！

ERIKO：

Yeah, we have to stuff ourselves on rice-cake.
そうだ、お餅いっぱい食べようね。

MIYUKI：

But don't eat too much!
でも食べすぎはだめですよ！

ERIKO：

Ozoni, Isobeyaki, Oshiruko, Kurumimochi... yummy!
お雑煮、磯辺焼き、おしるこ、くるみ餅、うーん幸せ！

MIYUKI：

I thought you were on a diet.
そういえば、ダイエットしてませんでしたか？

ERIKO：

But you can't do that on New Year's Day!
お正月はしょうがないでしょ。

MIYUKI：

It's like water off a duck's back...
